Market Outlook

A calendar of the big news that moves the whole market at once — jobs numbers, inflation reports, Fed decisions.

Do this

Look for an event on today. If there is one, note the time it drops.

Why it matters. These reports move every stock at the same moment. Trading through one without knowing is how new traders get run over.

Do this

Read it top to bottom. It names the stocks already moving, who reported earnings, and what the day is about.

Why it matters. It hands you the story of the day in five minutes, so you start with a list instead of a blank screen.

Pre-market: Trading that happens before the 9:30 AM open. Thin, but it shows what people care about.
Gapper: A stock opening far above or below yesterday’s close — usually on news.
Earnings: A company’s quarterly results. Stocks often move violently right after.

Moon Sectors

Do this

Find the sectors in the leading and improving corners. Hunt for stocks inside those.

Why it matters. The strongest stocks almost always sit in the strongest sectors. Start where the money already is.

Moon Spike

Order flow — a live feed of big money actually buying and selling options, as it happens.

Do this

Watch for unusually large trades landing on names from your list.

Why it matters. Talk is cheap. This shows you where real money is being committed right now.

Options: Contracts that bet on a stock moving by a certain date. Big players use them heavily.
Order flow: The live stream of trades hitting the market. It shows intent, not opinion.
Unusual volume: Far more trading than normal for that stock. Something is happening.

Scanner

Every stock with an active options market whose last finished daily, weekly or monthly candle is an Inside Candle, a Hammer or a Shooter — the three shapes traders wait for. Doubles and triples are tagged, and each card shows the last five candles.

Do this

After the close, pick Daily, Weekly or Monthly and read the cards. Save the names whose candle sits at a level you care about, then open the chart. On a 5 or 10 minute Moon Chart the same three shapes are marked for you once each candle closes.

Why it matters. A setup found on a finished candle is a plan you can write down tonight, with the whole evening to think about it.

Inside candle: A candle that stays entirely within the one before it. Price is coiling, and the break usually sets the direction.
Hammer / shooter: A candle with a long tail and a small body. A hammer was pushed down and bought back up; a shooter was pushed up and sold back down.
Timeframe: How much time each candle on a chart covers. A daily chart, a weekly chart, and so on.

Moon Phases

Do this

Before the bell, open the Pre-Market Breaks tab. After the close, check Moon Trigger and the crosses for names that line up with what the Scanner found.

Why it matters. One setup is a reason to look. Two boards pointing at the same name is a reason to plan the trade.

Bullish / bearish: Pointing up / pointing down.
Breakout: Price pushing out of a range it has been stuck in. Often the start of a move.

Moon Trackers

The public paper trail — what company insiders and members of Congress have been buying and selling, in plain English.

Do this

Search a ticker from your list. See whether the people who run the company have been buying their own stock.

Why it matters. Insiders sell for many reasons, but they buy for one. It is a second opinion from people who know the business.

Insider: An executive or director of a company. They must report it publicly when they trade its stock.
Filing: The public form a trade like that is reported on. Every row here links to the original.

Moon Monday

The board for the morning after a weekend — where the most active stocks settled while the market was shut, and which way each is leaning into Monday’s open.

Do this

On Monday before the bell, read the lean on each name: long, short or no edge. Skip the ones with no edge.

Why it matters. Two days of news land on one open. This tells you which names moved over the weekend before you see a single candle.

Gap: The jump between where a stock closed and where it next opens. Mondays have the biggest.
Lean: Which side has the better odds — not a promise, a starting bias.

Zoom In On One Name

Know one stock well enough to have a plan for it.

Galaxy

Up to ten charts on one screen, each with the few numbers that tell them apart — and yesterday’s high and low drawn on every one.

Do this

Load your shortlist. Rank it by move, run the crosshair through all ten, and cut the ones that are not doing anything.

Why it matters. You cannot compare ten stocks by opening them one at a time. Side by side, the one worth your morning is usually obvious.

Relative volume: How much a stock is trading compared with its normal. Twice normal means something is going on.
PDH / PDL: Previous day’s high and low. Two prices almost every trader is watching.

Find the magnet price it keeps getting pulled back to, and the walls above and below it. Press Replay to watch how the map moved through a past session.

Why it matters. This is where you get your entry, your target and your stop — instead of guessing at round numbers.

Pin: A price the stock keeps getting dragged back to.
Wall: A price that acts like a ceiling or a floor. Moves tend to slow down into one.
Stop: The exit price you set in advance to cap a loss. Non-negotiable.
Expected move: How far the options market is pricing the stock to travel today, up or down.

Do this

Save the names that survived the last three stops. Write the plan for each in its note. Cut anything you cannot explain.

Why it matters. A handful of names you understand beats a long list you do not. Most days, three is plenty.

Stage 4

Trade It

Take the plan to a chart and execute it the same way every time.

Moon Chart

The chart itself, with the levels already drawn — yesterday’s high and low, the week’s and the month’s, the average price paid today, and the magnets and walls from Moon Map. It also draws a widening pattern for you when one forms, and marks the break.

Do this

Open a ticker and switch to a 5 or 10 minute chart. Draw your own line where you plan to act, double-click it to type the exact price, and right-click a level to set an alert on it. Mark where you got in with the Entry Marker.

Why it matters. Your entry, target and stop should be prices you can point at before the trade — not ones you decide in the middle of it.

Candle: One bar of the chart. It shows where price opened, closed, and how far it reached in between.
VWAP: The average price everyone paid today, weighted by how much traded. Above it buyers are winning; below it, sellers.
Alert: A notice when price reaches a level you chose, so you do not have to stare at the screen.
Formation: A shape price draws over many candles. Moon Formation rules a line across the highs and one across the lows as the swings get wider.

Replay

A rewind button for the chart. Pick a candle in the past and play the session forward from there, one candle at a time.

Do this

Replay yesterday on a name from your list. Decide what you would do at each level before you let the next candle print.

Why it matters. It is practice with nothing at risk. You can live through fifty opens in an afternoon instead of fifty mornings.

Trade School

Practice trading options on the live market with pretend money. Moon Chart fills the screen with an order ticket beside it — real contracts, real prices, nothing at risk.

Do this

Set a starting balance, pick a call or a put from the chain, and place a limit order at your level. Tick your own checklist on the ticket and tag the trade with the strategy you used.

Why it matters. Replay teaches you to read the chart. This teaches you to take the trade — the order, the fill, and the loss you have to cut — before any real money is on it.

Call / put: A call gains when the stock goes up; a put gains when it goes down.
Limit order: An order that only fills at your price or better. You pick the price; the market decides whether it gets there.
Bid / ask: The most a buyer will pay and the least a seller will take. You buy at the ask and sell at the bid.
Paper trading: Trading pretend money on real prices. Everything is real except the money.
